Kelly Ripa Outraged By College Admissions Scandal Involving Felicity Huffman And Lori Loughlin

Kelly Ripa is outraged by the college admissions scandal that allegedly involves Felicity Huffman and Lori Loughlin. She is one of many celebrities who have reacted to the shocking news of the bribery scheme.

On Live With Kelly & Ryan this morning, the mother of three spoke out about the scandal, and she had a lot to say about it. Ripa has three children of her own, Michael age 21, Lola age 17, and Joaquin age 16, with her husband, Mark Consuelos. Both Michael and Lola have gone through the college admissions process, so she knows first-hand that it is a stressful process.

“Let me tell you something. As a parent who has gone through this process twice so far, test-taking is a nightmare. It is so exhausting, for the student, for the parents, for everybody involved. Particularity if you are my kids’ tutor, I would think it would be exhausting for you as well. You look at this and you go, ‘If you have the money to afford a tutor, you already have an advantage,'” the 48-year-old.

Ripa suggested what so many people are thinking. Perhaps college was not for these kids. The scandal sends the wrong message, and the blonde beauty was spot on in addressing it.

“I want to say this without saying this the wrong way. Maybe you’re not supposed to go to this elite college if you cannot get in on your own merit,” Ripa stated.

The former All My Children actress went on to explain that she didn’t go to college.  She needed help from tutors, but her parents could not afford to pay for one. Ripa knew she would never make the admissions cut for college without the help of a tutor.

Kelly Ripa has done exceptionally well for herself without college. She was careful to paraphrase her message maintaining college merely is not for everyone.

However, the talk show host didn’t want to give off the perception not going to college would give anyone the same results as her. Ripa has worked hard for her career, but a little luck also helped her along the way.

The FBI sting called “Operation Varsity Blues” revealed around 50 people, including Huffman and Loughlin, essentially paid their children’s way into college. It is the epitome of how the wealthy can buy whatever they want.

People continue to speak out against the scandal, even slamming the two actresses for their involvement. It is one hot topic for sure.
