KUWTK: Kim Kardashian Opens Up About Getting Body-Shamed While Pregnant With North!

Kim Kardashian, just like many people out there, has checked out the ‘Framing Britney Spears’ documentary. With that being said, it seems like the Keeping Up with the Kardashians celeb was inspired to share her own story about how the media treated her.

More precisely, Kim opened up about some of the experiences she had in which the scrutiny really took a toll on her.

In particular, she told all about the amount of body shaming directed at her while she was pregnant with her firstborn, daughter North West.

The mother of four started by saying that she felt a lot of empathy for Britney Spears after checking out the documentary.

On her IG Stories, she wrote that ‘The way the media played a big role in her life the way that it did can be really traumatizing and it can break even the strongest person. No matter how public someone’s life might seem, no one deserves to be treated with such cruelty or with judgement for entertainment.’

She then went on to tell her followers about her own experience gaining 60 pounds while pregnant for the first time.

Furthermore, she mentioned that she suffered from preeclampsia, which caused her to swell ‘uncontrollably.’

Kim Kardashian shares her thoughts on the #FreeBritney documentary:

“I’m sharing this just to say I really hope everyone involved in the business of shaming and bullying someone to the point of breaking them down might reconsider and instead try to show some understanding.” pic.twitter.com/AmK10xcEB6

‘I cried every day over what was happening to my body, mainly from the pressure of being compared to what society considered a healthy pregnant woman should look like — as well as getting compared to Shamu the Whale by the media. To say this did not take a toll on me mentally would be a lie. I am sharing this just to say I hope that everyone involved in the business of bullying and shaming somebody to the point of breaking them down might reconsider and instead try to show some understanding and compassion.’

To further prove that she was body-shamed by the media at the time, Kim also included a number of magazine covers that would provide unflattering pregnancy pics and would even compare her to Kate Middleton, who was also expecting at the time.
