Netflix Cancels 'One Day at a Time' After 3 Seasons
Netflix announced today that it will not be renewing One Day at a Time for a fourth season. “The choice did not come easy,” the streaming platform shared on their Twitter page. “We spent several weeks trying to find a way to make another season work but in the end simply not enough people watched to justify another season.”

— Netflix (@netflix) March 14, 2019The decision comes after fans rallied on social media to save the series from cancellation, praising how the show offered Latinx and LGBTQ+ representation, as well as addressing issues such as mental health, homophobia, racism, sexism, and addiction.
One Day at a Time premiered on the streaming platform in 2017 and was based on the 1975 series of the same name by Norman Lear. It starred Justina Machado, Todd Grinnell, Isabella Gomez, Marcel Ruiz, Stephen Tobolowsky, and Rita Moreno. Some of the cast responded to the cancellation on social media.
