Taylor Swifts sweet lilac dress did she wear it for John Mayer?

Y’all know I like Taylor Swift. I think she’s a cutie, but I don’t think she’s Little Miss Perfect, which is the image many people have of her, and perhaps that’s the image she wants us to buy. I think she’s a good girl, sure, but there are questions I have about her relationship with John Mayer (more on him in a minute), and about how everyone falls all over themselves to call her the best young talent in music today. Still, it could totally be worse, and I applaud Taylor’s grace over the past year as her fame continued to grow.

Anyway, this is Taylor at the Songwriters Hall of Fame ceremony last night. Her dress is J. Mendel and her heels are Louboutin. The flower in her hair is overkill, right? Otherwise, the whole ensemble is very nice. Pretty dress, good shoes, she didn’t straighten her hair, but she pulled it back and it looks decent. She’s got great skin, too. The only criticism I have is that someone needs to teach this girl how to pose on a red carpet. Standing around pigeon-toed is not a good pose.

Now, onto the John Mayer stuff – he was at the ceremony too. And he presented the Hal David Starlight Award to Taylor (it’s an award for up-and-coming songwriters, they weren’t inducted her into the Hall of Fame, thank God). Mayer told the crowd: “She’s no accident… You could put her in a time machine in any era and she would have a hit record…Don’t confuse everybody loving one thing as hype. Sometimes that’s everyone agreeing that it’s fabulous.” Yeah. They’re boning.
