The 5 Unavoidable Christmas Movies To See in December

Are looking forward to Christmas? Let’s be honest, we all love Christmas and that’s why we prepared 5 essential Christmas Movies to watch.

Whether you are children waiting for Santa’s presents or adults planning this event with all your family, December is the month where your life becomes a little more colorful with lights and garlands.

Although the magic month of December rhymes with Gifts, Family and Friends, Great meals, Christmas tree, Decorations, Mulled Wine, Christmas Songs etc., it’s also synonymous with Christmas Movies!

Yes, Christmas is the best part of the year but it’s only in few weeks and since we all are really impatient for it, what better to sit in front of the television and watch old Christmas Movies?

Everyone has their own preferences but some Christmas Movies are unavoidable at this period of the year.

Elf (2003)

Elf is one of the must see Christmas Movies. Coming from the North Pole, Will Ferrell -half man, half elf- is coming to New York to find his dad. However, a bigger mission is offering to him at the same time: saving the Christmas Spirit.

Will Ferrell and Zooey Deschanel (human!) are amazing in this movie and form a nice duo.
Even if it dates back from 2003, it’s an essential piece of laugh and fantastic to see.

The Holiday (2006)

This movie is a mix with romance and Christmas spirit. Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz decide to swap houses at the Christmas period and finally meet Jack Black and Jude Law respectively.

Home Alone (1990)

This movie is not about Christmas itself but it is THE movie that will take your mind off everyday life and will immerse yourself in this little boy adventure. This little boy’s parents left in holiday and he finds himself alone in the house. Doing whatever he can is just a dream for him until the point where he is creating traps to catch burglars trying to enter the house. This comedy movie is perfect to watch with your family on a snowy Sunday afternoon.

The Chronicles of Narnia: the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005)

Being a huge fan of fantastic movies, The Chronicles of Narnia is THE saga that caught up my attention. This movie mixes fantastic, adventure and drama. Christmas traditions are threatened and four children with their speaking animals’ friends are here to help them in an epic final battle. The Chronicles of Narnia will make you dream and travel in these children’s adventure to save a parallel magical and incredibly ferric world.

Gremlins (1984)

And just because Gizmo is a cute little creature of Christmas, Gremlins is a classic movie to watch in December. This movie shows little creatures called Gremlins that are destroying a city. But when Rand (Hoyt Axton) go in Chinatown to sell his inventions and find a Christmas gift to his son, find Gizmo, a cute and furry Mogwai. Finally, he decides to bring Gizmo home. Over the time, Rand and Billy (his son) will discover that Gizmo is hiding a secret and that it’s better not to irritate him.
